Privacy Policy

Last updated 27 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data Urban Drip collects, why, and your rights under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

What we collect

  • Account: name, mobile number, password (stored only as a one-way hash).
  • Bookings: storage point, times, number of bags, pickup or delivery location, hand-over photos of the bags.
  • Payments: processed by Razorpay; we receive the payment status and reference, never your card or UPI PIN.
  • Partners and stores: identity or business documents for verification, payout UPI ID or bank details, and a partner’s live location while on an active job.
  • Device: notification subscription if you turn alerts on, and basic logs (IP address, browser) for security.

Why we use it

To run bookings, send you hand-over codes and status updates by SMS or notification, process payments and refunds, pay partners and stores, verify identities, prevent fraud, resolve claims, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell your data.

Who we share it with

  • The store and partner on your booking — only what they need (your name, phone, pickup point).
  • Service providers who process data for us: Google Cloud (hosting and storage, India region), Razorpay (payments), MSG91 (SMS), Google Maps (maps and addresses).
  • Authorities, when required by law.

How long we keep it

Booking and payment records: 8 years (tax law). Hand-over photos: 90 days after the booking ends unless a claim is open. Verification documents: while the account is active, then 1 year. You can ask us to delete your account at any time; we’ll keep only what the law requires.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, or erase your data, withdraw consent, or nominate someone to act for you. Write to our Grievance Officer, Garvit Haran, at garvit.haran2801@gmail.com. We reply within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Verification documents and photos are stored privately and shown only through short-lived links to people who need them.
